FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6
12AM: Criminal Mindscape: Ron Luff : Enter the Criminal Mindscape of Ron Luff, a man who tried to usher in the Second Coming of Christ by systematically killing a family of five. After uprooting his family to join a small religious group, Luff becomes captivated by the leader. He is willing to do anything to prove his devotion to the man who controlled his mind , including murder. Forensic psychologist N.G. Berrill sits face to face with this once mild-mannered family man to uncover how he turned killer.
1AM: Lockup: Holman: Extended Stay - You Wanna Work Where? : For the officers and staff working at Alabama's Holman Correctional Facility, the biggest challenge is dealing with difficult inmates. According to Warden Grantt Culliver, burnout is a constant problem, and unexcused absences create staff shortages. That means that designated jobs, like cell searches, which each shift has a requirement to perform, don't always get done. In addition, with a steady decline in staffing, the pressure is on the new recruits. But there are perks to working at Holman; it offers good pay and benefits, especially for people who don't have a college education, and candidates have to pass a very strict and tough physical test in order to complete the training.
2AM: Lockup: Inside Iowa State Penitentiary : Built in 1839, the nation's oldest operating prison west of the Mississippi sits behind 40-foot stone and concrete walls, and is Iowa's only maximum-security facility. Some of the inmates are mentally ill, including Caleb Etter, in for meth manufacturing and a sex crime. MSNBC shows you his extraction from a cell and subsequent restraint after attacking a female guard. We also feature another inmate, back behind bars after a daring escape attempt. And we meet the prison's most notorious resident, Chai Vang, serving six life sentences for murdering six hunters in Wisconsin.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7
7PM: Lockup Indiana: Extended Stay - Cutting : From the most trusted inmates, working at the prison barbershop, to inmate assaults on prison staff, or inmates who turn violence against themselves, at Indiana State Prison, "cutting" has many meanings. With the personal cameras provided by Lockup producers, ISP inmates share their feelings about life behind bars.
8PM: Lockup: Inside Iowa State Penitentiary
9PM: Lockup: Inside Pendleton Juvenile : The inmates at Indiana's Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility aren't sentenced in terms of years. They get out when they achieve certain goals, no matter how long that takes. For impulsive, defiant, angry young men who have committed adult crimes, that can be a long time. We go inside this facility where rehabilitation is the goal, but often only comes at great cost.
10PM: Lockup Pendleton: Extended Stay - Zero to Sixty : Pendleton Juvenile, one of America's largest maximum-security juvenile prisons. is the last stop in Indiana for young offenders who have committed serious crimes. Unlike adult prisons, staff here must deal with impulsive teen behavior that can escalate without warning. During our six months of shooting inside Pendleton, we witnessed all this and more.
11PM: Lockup: New Mexico : This state penitentiary was the site of one of the bloodiest prison riots in 1980 and our cameras found disturbing physical reminders of the carnage. It's a prison with a long history of violence that used to be called "gladiator school" by inmates. MSNBC shows you how prison officials work to curb the violence, placing inmates who cannot be managed in the general population into single cells, where all behavior is monitored and every movement is restricted.
12AM: Lockup Pendleton: Extended Stay - Everyone's Got Baggage : Pendleton Juvenile is the last stop in Indiana for young offenders who have committed serious crimes. The staff there must always be prepared for the unexpected, and is determined to rehabilitate impulsive teens who are often angry and violent. It helps them to keep in mind that one of the major sources of anger for these young people is what they've gone through at home, and the baggage they bring with them
1AM: Lockup Pendleton: Extended Stay - Under Pressure : As one of the largest maximum-security juvenile prisons in the country, Pendleton is responsible for educating and rehabilitating teenage gang members, sex offenders and juveniles with mental health issues for the Indiana Department of Correction. And on any given day inside the razor wire fences, anything can happen. During our 6 months inside, we learned some days can be even more chaotic than most...As one official says, "When it rains, we don't have enough buckets."
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8
6PM: Lockup: Return to Pelican Bay : After five years, MSNBC goes back to Pelican Bay State Prison in Northern California, long known as one of the most violent and volatile penitentiaries in the nation. On our first visit, it was under lockdown - still reeling from one of the worst prison riots in U.S. history. Has the situation improved? Find out as our cameras take an in-depth look at men deemed too violent for any other institution.
7PM: Lockup: Return to Corcoran : It's one of California's largest maximum-security prisons and home to two of the state's most notorious killers, Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan, but to many, Corcoran State Prison is best known as the site of so-called "gladiator fights." Prison guards allegedly looked on as inmates fought one another in concrete yards, sometimes to the death. The guards were acquitted, but when we first brought our cameras into Corcoran in 2000 the prison was still recovering from the scandal and looking for new ways to combat rampant violence. In this hour of "Lockup" we take you back into this highly charged facility to see whether it has overcome its troubled past.
8PM: Lockup: Inside Kentucky State : Just the look of Kentucky State Penitentiary evokes an image of medieval times. In this episode of Lockup, we go behind the walls of Kentucky's only maximum-security prison and visit death row in a facility not so lovingly referred to as "the castle."
9PM: Lockup Indiana: Extended Stay - Predator/Prey: In a world dictated by fear, some resort to violence, and others become victims, while those on death row at Indiana State Prison can only wait for the inevitable. And with the personal cameras we left them, both inmates and their feline companions have plenty more to say.
10PM: Criminal Mindscape: Joseph Paul Franklin (PREMIERE) : On a mission to start a race war in America, Joseph Paul Franklin ruthlessly murders 20 people. His methods vary, making him nearly impossible to catch. Now, Mary Ellen O'Toole, a veteran FBI profiler, enters death row and steps into the Criminal Mindscape.
11PM: To Catch a Predator: Long Beach 1 : Dateline's investigation begins in Long Beach, California. And this time, someone's gone online to post a warning that hidden cameras are in the neighborhood. Do you think that stopped these men?
12AM: To Catch a Predator: Long Beach 2 : Dateline's hidden camera's are back in Long Beach, California, where the long arm of the law has reached out and grabbed more than three dozen men -- in just three days. And perhaps the most surprising arrest in our most recent investigation? It didn't happen overnight in our undercover house -- it happened in broad daylight, in a public park.
1AM: To Catch a Predator 6: Florida: Part Six of Dateline NBC's hidden camera investigation into the national epidemic of grown men using the Internet to solicit underage teens for sex. In this episode, sexual predators are lured from the Internet to a home in Fort Myers, Florida, where Correspondent Chris Hansen and hidden cameras are ready to confront them.
