FRIDAY, February 5
12AM: The Surfer and the Bird Rock Bandits (2 hours): They grew up in La Jolla, California, surrounded by the sea... And wealth. But what happened to young people here could have happened anywhere. Emery Kauanui was a promising young surfer, and a son to make a mother proud. Eric House, Hank Hendricks, and Seth Cravens were former football teammates. They played - and partied - hard. But how did a night out with friends...end with the death of that rising star of the surf? Prosecutors called it murder. Friends said it was a tragic accident. One young life lost. And five more on the line.
2AM: Lockup Pendleton: Extended Stay: Zero to Sixty: Pendleton Juvenile, one of America’s largest maximum-security juvenile prisons. is the last stop in Indiana for young offenders who have committed serious crimes. Unlike adult prisons, staff here must deal with impulsive teen behavior that can escalate without warning. During our six months of shooting inside Pendleton, we witnessed all this and more.
SATURDAY, February 6
3PM: The Secret Life of Michael Jackson (PREMIERE): With reports circulating that Dr. Conrad Murray will be charged this week in connection with Michael Jackson's death, NBC's Josh Mankiewicz reports on new details on the investigation into why Jackson died, revealing potentially key evidence that has never been publicly reported. Dateline traveled the world to uncover the secrets of Jackson's last years and how they may have set the stage for his death and landed exclusive interviews with former patients of Dr. Murray.
8PM: The Secret Life of Michael Jackson
10:30PM: Lockup: Inside Pelican Bay: An inside look at the high security prison known as Pelican Bay. Pelican Bay State Prison was designed to be California's new Alcatraz, a single facility that would successfully isolate and contain the state's most dangerous inmates. Instead, it has been plagued by violence and endless litigation. When this jail system opened its gates to MSNBC cameras, we captured a first-hand look at the living and working conditions for prisoners and guards alike. What we discovered was a web of prison gangs; a segregated society on the verge of a virtual war. It's a world where greatly outnumbered guards struggle to keep the peace. We show and tell the story of one of the worst prison riots in American history, and explain the dangerous dynamics of the prison yard.
11PM: Lockup Raw: Hell in a Cell: Starting with the first day they enter prison, inmates must develop methods to cope with the pressures and fear that come with incarceration. We explore the fascinating variety of ways in which both new inmates and old-timers attempt to make incarceration bearable.
12AM: Lockup Raw: Ever Present Danger: It’s a world where the threat of danger dictates every action and every decision. From stabbings over drugs, or money owed for the prison canteen, to vengeance attacks on child molesters, it's a world that Lockup producers and camera crews explore on a regular basis; where even the most heinous violations are commonplace.
1AM: Lockup Raw: Prison Love: Once behind bars, many prisoners devise creative ways to achieve intimacy. There are prison weddings, openly gay and lesbian relationships, conjugal visits where inmates can spend intimate time with their spouses, and even siblings doing time together. These tales of intimate relationships behind bars are some of the most compelling stories ever produced on Lockup, but in prison, love can be a double edged sword.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 7
4PM: To Catch a Predator: Petaluma 2: Even though millions of people have seen our series and we’ve caught 150 men, in this latest investigation, our seventh one, we have one of our largest turnouts ever. 29 men show up at this upscale house in Sonoma County, California in just three days.
5PM: To Catch a Predator: Georgia 1: This hidden camera operation takes place in rural Fortson, Georgia, 90 minutes south of Atlanta. Internet chat rooms are full of men aware of our previous investigations—men who want to have sex with a minor but are concerned they might be caught on tape. But you’d never guess by the way the first man confidently walks into our house that he’s seen Dateline’s investigations into Internet sex predators before—and he’s still willing to risk being exposed on national television.
6PM: To Catch a Predator: Georgia 2: Even when they know it’s against the law, know there’s a chance they’ll be apprehended, men still show up at a house where they were told a child is home alone and willing to have sex with them. And the number of men who continue to arrive at the door during each undercover operation is alarming—as you'll see in our sixth investigation, this time in rural Harris County, Georgia.
7PM: To Catch a Predator: Long Beach 1: Dateline's investigation begins in Long Beach, California. And this time, someone's gone online to post a warning that hidden cameras are in the neighborhood. Do you think that stopped these men?
8PM: To Catch a Predator: Flagler Beach 1: Dateline's hidden cameras head to the beach, and so do suspected predators. They are grown men on-line targeting kids, including a college teacher who arrives bearing gifts, a man who's shy, but hopes our decoy, isn't, and a businessman who brings cash. They run. They hide. But when they get outside their worlds come crashing down.
9PM: To Catch a Predator: Flagler Beach 2: Who wouldn't want to visit Flagler Beach? This small, idyllic spit of land on Florida's East Coast attracts thousands of visitors every year. But some of the visitors you'll meet tonight aren't just coming for the sun, sand, and surf. They are ready to make waves --- even if they're potentially dangerous. But Flagler Beach it seems, is also a town ready to take on potential sex predators.
10PM: Predator Raw: The Unseen Tapes 5: You've seen us catch online predators. Men who use the internet to target children for sex. This time, in Greenville, Ohio - small town America - the unexpected happens. Could this predator trap turn into a bust? But then, they come .. often traveling long distances. With outrageous alibis. Although it's a new location, there's the same shocking behavior. With the same result.
11PM: Predator Raw: The Unseen Tapes 6: Chris Hansen had just finished a family vacation near Fort Myers before beginning the investigation featured in this program. The neighborhood where it takes place is one of the nicest and wealthiest neighborhoods in that Florida city, described by Hansen as like "something from the Home and Garden Channel". And our host wasn't the only one impressed by the setting....virtually every guy who walked in was just stunned at how beautiful it was.
12AM: Predator Raw: The Unseen Tapes 7: For the fifth Predator investigation, Dateline headed south, to Fort Myers, Florida. In a beautiful neighborhood, they encountered the strangest parade of suspects they'd ever seen. And it was all captured by a huge array of cameras, including one in a palm tree that could turn 360 degrees and zoom into a license plate at the other end of the street. And for the first time, they were able to videotape each element in the process, from when the suspect showed up at the house, to his arrest, through his appearance in court.
1AM: Predator Raw: The Unseen Tapes 8: In this hour, we take you behind the scenes in rural Georgia, which was unique, not only because of the remote location, but was the first time local and federal law enforcement worked together on a Predator investigation. Nevertheless, there were some challenges the Dateline crew had to overcome, like making sure the potential predators could actually find the house, and training a new decoy onsite when one of the regulars went back to college.
